  1. Secret of Calakmul

    September 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018 @ Roswell Goddard Planetarium

    Discover the mysteries around Calakmul, a Mayan city discovered by the archeologists in 1931. This full dome experience guides you through the Mayan architecture and its relationship with the starry sky and shows the biodiversity in the jungle using incredible time-lapse photography, 360° video, drone shots, computer-generated animations of 3D models and direct jungle audio in 5.1 channels.

  2. Sunstruck

    September 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018 @ Robert Goddard Planetarium

    Starting September to the end of December, shows will be presented on Tuesdays at 7 pm, and Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:30 pm. Shows include a full-dome film accompanied by a star presentation.     Chaves County Cancer Fund Events: Mondays( October 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29): Peppers Grill & Bar from 6 pm to 8 pm will be selling pink items & paint the town pink shirts. Thursdays ( October 4, 11, 18, & 25): Peppers Grill & BAr from 6 pm to 8 pm will be selling pink items & paint the town pink shirts. Saturday, October 6: The Chaves County Cancer Fund Golf Tournament will take place at the NMMI Golf Tournament from 8 am to noon. Friday, October 12: Paint the Town Pink Paint Party with Sieglinda Shaw will take place at the Fraternal Order of Eagle from 6 pm to 8 pm. October 1-13: Flock the Town Pink ( pink flamingos) Chaves County Cancer Fund Raffle will be all month. Items for raffle include, but are not limited to, painting by Sieglinda, Golf Club, Golf Ball & Visor signed by Gerina Piller, and a 50/50 raffle.   6. 2018 WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S

    October 13, 2018, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM @ Pioneer Park

    All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Parents/guardians can register children online or complete an offline registration form and sign the waiver on behalf of the child. Every registered participant will receive a T-shirt after achieving the fundraising minimum of $100. Donations can be made offline by submitting a check or money order by mail or hand-delivering to the local Alzheimer’s Association office. Strollers are allowed, but for everyone’s safety, skateboards, bicycles, inline skates and wheelie footwear are discouraged.
